Red Flamboyant Festival 2014 launches in Hai Phong

Red Flamboyant Festival 2014, an annual organized event will take place in three days (9 – 11 May) in Hai Phong city. “Cat Ba in color of Red Flamboyant”, the highlight of festival will be held on the evening of 10th May at Opera House Square.

Red Flamboyant Festival - a new tourism product in Hai Phong city attracts many domestic and foreign tourists. Each year with a new and unique theme brings tourists indescribable emotions. Through last 2 festivals with “Sparkling Red Haiphong” in 2012 and “Red River Civilization” in 2013, Haiphong Red Flamboyant Festival has left much beautiful impression in both residents and tourists. This year Red Flamboyant Festival 2014 continues to be held with the theme “Cat Ba in color of Red Flamboyant” taking place from 9- 11 May in Hai Phong city. Many excellent activities have been preparing and implementing to create attractions and the spread; simultaneously, turn the festival into the real citizen's festival.

Red Flamboyant Festival 2014 will be specially organized 3 in 1. Along with the main festival, the City will also celebrate reception ceremony on special national monument ranking Certificate - Cat Ba scenic spot, and 59 year of Hai Phong City Liberation Day ceremony in 13th May. On this occasion, Hai Phong city will also host a number of sideline activities to win UNESCO’s recognition in the process of the nomination for Cat Ba to become a World Natural Heritage site in 2014. According to Mr. Doan Duy Linh - Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival program will insists of Carnival, the opening ceremony, the reception ceremony on special national monument Certificate of Cat Ba archipelago scenic spot and excellent art performance programs. Besides, the festival includes more than 10 cultural, art, economic events promising to create the most ever- vibrant, attractive and practical performances.

Particularly, the highlight of this year's festival program is “Cat Ba in color of Red Flamboyant” night. With many diverse and spectacular activities, the program will take place on the evening of 10th May at Opera House Square and be a live television program on Vietnam Television and Hai Phong Radio and Television. The script expected in “Cat Ba in color of red flamboyant” insists of 3 mainly attractive sections: Hai Phong brightly Red Flamboyant, the celebration and excellence art programs. In particular, art program is expected to include four chapters: Red Flamboyant, a fire-flower memory, Cat Ba – a love, and immense earth and estuary.
Many magnificent cultural and artistic activities are also held during the festival, such as Red River Delta culinary introducing festival, Dragon Dance competition final on citywide Red Flamboyant Cup, water puppetry performances and exchanges of folk songs... at Tam Bac Lake, “ao dai” (long-dresses) festival, Red Flamboyant fashion week, showroom on displaying tourist sites and tourism products of the city, Hai Phong - Bach Long Vy tour opening, and marvelous Concert program at the Opera House...
